Join Teaching Artists ROC for an in-person Nosh & Networking event on April 6th! If you’re in the Western New York area come be with us. We’ll be watching “Making Meaning with Alphabet Rockers” and “Supporting TA’s as Cultural Bearers” on a big screen that afternoon and would love some company to chat. If you’re an experienced artist, new to the profession, or curious about what a TA is, then let’s get together. Drop in for an hour or stay for the whole afternoon. Please RSVP so we know how much food to prepare. This is a regional gathering in conjunction with the conference Our Shared Future: Imagining a New Landscape for Teaching Artists. The goal of the conference and gathering is to center teaching artists and further the field of teaching artistry. By bringing teaching artists of Rochester to the table, the teaching artist organizations can understand the nuances of teaching artists’ values, how they define their assets and what they identify as their challenges and needs. Learning all this allows the collective of teaching artist associations to deepen their support of and advocacy for the field. Teaching artists will also directly benefit through the conversation as they affirm what they do, broaden and deepen their community connections with local colleagues, and define their individual and collective next steps. Join us as we unpack what we’ve learned at the conference together.
When: April 6, 2:15-5:00pm EST
Where: MADE ON STATE, 510 State St, Rochester, NY, 14608
