Artforms & Experience

Biography

As an artist-educator, I’m interested in exploring joyful, trauma-informed pedagogical approaches to the theatre; shifting away from old-school methodologies that encourage young people to sacrifice their safety for their art. In a classroom that encourages risky, but not reckless, artistic choices, my educational vision is to empower students to unlock and refine their innate creativity through the development of soft skills and relationship-building.

My interests have led me to pursue graduate coursework at Arizona State University in Theatre with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Digital Media for Performance, a unique collaboration of the School of Music, Dance and Theatre and School of Arts, Media and Engineering. As a returning professional with a background in theatre and over a decade of production experience in NY and LA, I specialize in producing experiential events for the entertainment industry; working with award-winning agencies and television networks to ideate, design, produce, and style extraordinary events & “Instagrammable” experiences. I proudly worked as the Art Director of RuPaul’s DragCon, the first convention celebrating drag, queer culture, and self-expression.
