The San Francisco Arts Commission (SFAC), Community Cultural Centers and Arts for a Better Bay Area (ABBA) are pleased to co-host two online community forums on Prop E’s Arts Impact Endowment (AIE) funds in early November.
The purpose of the virtual gatherings is to share information with the community about 1) how COVID impacted Prop E hotel tax revenue; 2) how the Arts Commission’s Prop E funds were spent since the legislation’s inception (this includes funding for Cultural Centers, Cultural Equity Endowment funds; and Arts Impact Endowment Funds); and 3) provide an opportunity for feedback on allocating the Arts Impact Endowment Funds in FY22.
At these meetings, the SFAC will cover the following topics:
- Welcome by Director of Cultural Affairs Ralph Remington
- A brief overview of Prop E (passed by 75% of voters in November 2018)
- COVID’s impact on Prop E revenue
- SFAC’s revenue and expenses of Prop E and AIE January 2019 to June 2021
- AIE funds for FY22 totaling $2.2 million
- Community input on how to allocate FY22 AIE within four funding areas determined by Cultural Services Allocation Plan 2019-2024 (Individual Artists Support: 10%; Arts Organizations Core Support/General Operating: 20%; Arts Education: 40%; Space/Capital: 30%)
