Designing Cultures of Welcome
Building off of research on Restorative Practices, Culturally Responsive Teaching, Creative Inquiry and neuroscience, participants will learn about strategies and best practices for creating student-centered, welcoming learning environments.
This 3-Day series will introduce a set of hands on, creatively centered activities that build students empathy and motivation to engage and become active learners across learning content areas and environments.
Designing Cultures of Welcome includes: 15 hours of synchronous online learning, 5 hours per day over 3 days. Sessions will be interactive with both on screen and off screen time to engage in learning.
Participants who complete all 15 hours have the option to receive 1 Graduate Unit with the option to do an additional 15 hours of asynchronous project learning for an additional graduate unit through the University of the Pacific.
