Just Listen: Reframing Our Relationship to Disability to Promote Inclusion in the Arts

April 20 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

How do arts educators reinforce ableism in arts spaces? How can we change perspectives to invite everyone to participate in the arts, especially those we may perceive to have physical barriers?

Begin unlearning biases and building new mindsets with CONSTELLATION Resident Robby Williams. Through discussion, real-world examples, and exploring their own relationship to movement, participants will analyze and assess the power of language, take away effective approaches to invite able-bodied/disabled students to explore movement together, assess, locate, and employ accessibility services based on students’ needs, and create inclusivity in student performances.
