At Alameda County Office of Education, my responsibilities include evaluating programs for effectiveness and relevance, with special emphasis on incorporation of current education trends and curriculum standards, ensuring that programs meet California State Standards as well as National Core Arts Standards. My expertise is in leading research and development of specialized curriculum for teaching artists and educators related to the performing arts, and developing new arts learning opportunities for youth, families and adults. I have a defined commitment to education equity and cultural diversity in both staffing, programming and content, while developing strategic partnerships with local and national arts education providers. Much of my work has focused on arts integration for social justice and transdisciplinary learning as I employ techniques and strategies that leverage multiple art forms across academic disciplines, facilitating transformative experiences.
