With SYA I have the title of Assistant Teaching Artist. My line of work consists of participating in professional development days, attending immersion training, and co-teaching in the classroom to my lead TA, as well as during tour workshops to other TAs. I have learned a lot under the umbrella of aesthetic education. I have also learned in the classroom to support a my lead TA and assist with classroom management. As a teaching artist I feel have accomplished the subtle art of knowing when and how my lead TA needs me in the classroom. How to be confident and familiar with the lesson plan and being ready on my feet to switch gears if an obstacle arises.
